Welcome to Scamps & Scholars.

Killorglin Community Childcare Centre CLG is a modern childcare facility for children from 6 months to 12 years. We offer care for wobblers (1 to 2 years), toddlers (2 to 3 years), preschool (3 to 5 years) and after-school (school-age children).

We strive to provide an environment where we respect individuality, educate and care for each child, and prepare them with the tools and skills necessary for everyday life.

We are fully insured and registered with Tusla. We pride ourselves on not only meeting the regulatory standards required but surpassing them, and on a great partnership with the families who use us.

We are a charity and a not-for-profit organisation, so all our effort goes into meeting the needs of the children and families who use our services. That is how we offer quality, affordable childcare.

Our story

Grown by the community, for the community.

  1. 1998: a community answers a need

    Killorglin Community Childcare is set up to meet the growing demand for quality, affordable childcare in Killorglin town and the surrounding area. It begins in rooms at Killorglin Sports Complex.

  2. Built by people who cared

    Through the hard work and dedication of many directors and staff, and the goodwill of many more, a purpose-built childcare centre takes shape.

  3. March 2001: our doors open

    Scamps & Scholars is officially opened on Langford Street, and has been caring for Killorglin’s children ever since.

Our premises

Room to play, indoors and out.

Our centre is laid out so every age group has its own space, with separate preschool, toddler and wobbler rooms, a kitchen of our own, and plenty of space outside.
