Real food, freshly prepared
All food in the centre is freshly prepared. We do not use convenience, pre-prepared or frozen foods, and make plenty of sauces, soups, healthy treats and some bread ourselves.
Food & kitchen
Providing the right nutrition helps give every child a lifetime of good health, so our kitchen does things properly.
All food in the centre is freshly prepared. We do not use convenience, pre-prepared or frozen foods, and make plenty of sauces, soups, healthy treats and some bread ourselves.
Menus are planned weekly to reflect the weather and what is in season, using top-quality stock and ingredients from reliable local suppliers.
We add no salt when preparing meals. Flavour comes from the best fruit and vegetables, and our stock is homemade.
We serve milk and water, and do not provide fruit juices, diluted drinks or soft drinks. The only exception is during school events and tours.
Meals and textures are planned for each age. After a first chat with parents, babies meet a wide variety of tastes and textures, moving from spoon to finger food to cutlery as they grow.
Older children are sometimes given the chance to help make sandwiches, homemade pizza and wraps, which builds an interest in healthy food and how it is made.
We know allergies worry parents. We start with a consultation so our kitchen staff can plan alternative meals, and we update this as your child moves through the rooms.
We follow HACCP policies and procedures, hold current food handling and safety certificates, and are audited annually by the HSE Environmental Health Officers. We are happy to share the reports with parents.
Weekly menus are posted on the notice boards in the centre, so you always know what your child is eating.
Tell us about your child's needs and our kitchen team will plan with you.
